This article explains what the field "Exploration level" for Campaigns mean, and how to use it to achieve your goals.
"Exploration" level is a field at campaign level (circled in red in the screenshot below) that determines the behavior of the Ad360 optimization algorithm.
The value of "Exploration level" is a percentage between 0% and 100% that you can update by moving the slider.
The % value determines how much of the budget is dedicated to "Exploration" in Ad360's optimization.
In Ad360, optimization is natively and automatically activated at all times on your campaigns, without you needing to do anything. Our AI-powered algorithms constantly gather data, analyze it and are ready to make updates to the campaigns settings to maximize your results.
The Ad360 algorithm will naturally spend more budget on the Line Items of your campaign in a way that will improve the most the chosen KPI (in the screenshot above: Goal Type = CPA).
However, you don't necessarily want to have all of your campaign's budget reallocated at all times. In some situations, users want to keep a certain percentage of their budget set on all Line Items, even if they have no results, or inferior results, so that we can continue to explore and gather data with them.
Hence the % value set as the Exploration level is the % of the pacing value each day that won't be automatically reallocated by the algorithms.
If your Pacing is @100, and your exploration level is 15%, then you'll have up to $85 that will be reallocated dynamically amongst Line Items based on their KPIs, but $15 will remain allocated amongst all Line Items regardless of their results.
If for any reason, you don't want Ad360 to reallocate any of the budgets between Line Items, you can set the Exploration level to 100%.
